This morning, at 5:27 a.m., our phone rang. I jumped out of bed, thinking that perhaps Baby Stackert has made his way into the world. Instead, it was the automated system for Nashville Metro School System, telling us that school was cancelled because of the snow (apparently the last people to have our number had school aged children, we can't seem to convince them that we don't!). I didn't even know that snow was on it's way, so I went to look out the window.
There were MAYBE 2 inches of snow on the ground. We turned on the news, and they treated it as though there were 24 inches of snow on the ground! They had reporters around the area, showing the amazing snowfall. One reporter leaned down to pick up the snow, "There must be an inch and a half here." Amazing! Not only that, but EVERY school system in Middle Tennessee was closed today, and the weatherman made fun of the school systems in Kentucky that hadn't closed yet.
The best part of all of it was that the traffic was non-existent today! It was like a Saturday morning. I know that living in Boston made me kind of a snow snob, "a foot, that's just a dusting." But all of this for an inch and a half? Are you kidding me?
WE ARE MOVING!
